AC charging cable

Type 1 AC charging cables conforming to SAE J1772 / IEC 62196-2 is mainly used in the United States and Japan. By the lever mechanism locking, the lever mechanism interrupts the power when actuated. An optional vehicle connector with a U-lock can also be used to prevent unauthorized removal during charging. Phoenix Contact also offers a so-called adapter charging cable as an adapter between the Type 1 vehicle connector and the Type 2 infrastructure plug. These are used to connect Type 1 vehicle entrances to European infrastructure.
